A timid widow starts losing her grip on reality when her unwieldy son starts lashing out. As if that wasn’t bad enough, a creepy-ass children’s book keeps finding its way into their house. Before long, they realize this is no ordinary book, and it’s not going away until it gets what it wants.
Not only is it one of the best movies of 2014 (bar none), it’s one of the best horror movies I’ve seen in years. Seriously, folks, this is some next-level ish that’s as utterly terrifying as it is surprisingly deep. Recommendations don’t come much easier.
It’s got a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.
