A documentary about two Israeli cousins who bought an American production company in the late ’70s, proceeded to churn out an inordinate number of some of the worst movies ever made, and somehow made a successful go of it for longer than they had any right to.
It’s at once a strangely heartfelt tribute to the guys who gave us more Chuck Norris and Death Wish movies than anyone ever asked for and a full-out roast of each and every hot mess that made Cannon Films so infamous. It is hilarious, it is insane, and I loved every second of it. Even if you’ve never heard of these guys or seen their crappy movies, there’s still a lot to like about this fantastic doc. Give it a shot. It’s something else.
It’s got a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.
