A documentary chronicling the accomplished life and public death of Roger Ebert: a man who changed the face of film criticism and became a household name for it.
Even if you’ve read the book, even if you’re already pretty familiar with Ebert’s life, it remains a fantastic documentary that provides a fitting insight to a storied life and death, warts and all. Hesitated for a while about adding this to the site, if only because it’s one of the more well-known docs on Netflix, but I just liked it too much to keep it off any longer. Doesn’t hurt that it’s made by one of the best documentarians out there, either.
It’s got a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.
