The story of a rare, tried and true magician who tries to prove himself among a host of charlatans in 19th Century England and a younger man who moves to the countryside and winds up becoming a rival magician by sheer chance.
Crap on magic all you want, you know damn well your interest is piqued. It’s a well-done miniseries that’s a good deal of fun with some solid acting and writing to boot. It’s no Harry Potter, but it’s worth checking out.
It’s got 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.
