A documentary about a series of televised debates between Gore Vidal and William F. Buckley, Jr. that took place during the 1968 election cycle and changed not only the lives of those involved but the face of television as we now know it.
[Rated R]
Even if you’re completely unfamiliar with Vidal and Buckley, I can’t recommend this one enough. Hell, this thing is so well made that it could have been about two squirrels fighting over a nut and I’d still be giving it a thumbs up. Absolutely fascinating and completely enthralling stuff that keeps getting thanks largely in part to the brutal debates in question. So brutal.
It’s got a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.
