With his parents on the verge of divorce and bankruptcy, a young man gets sent to an all-boys school run by the Christian brothers. After befriending a fellow outcast, said young man decides to start a band in order to impress a girl across the way. As he and his mates try to figure out their sound, the lot start coming into their own.
It’s by the same guy who did Once (which you really should see if you haven’t already) and it’s got all the same winning qualities. Really fun, really funny, really easy to like, and the music’s great, too. Really great. Probably one of the easiest recommendations on Netflix right now. Absolutely adore this one. Hell of a coming-of-ager.
It’s got a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.
