A behind-the-scenes documentary about the biggest metal band in the world as they struggle to record a new album and navigate old wounds that have finally bubbled to the surface, threatening to break them up once and for all.
[Unrated]
It’s interesting enough seeing how any album from any band is made, but it’s really something to get this kind of access to a band of this stature as they try to do what they do best at their lowest point. It’s more like watching on long therapy session than it is a rockumentary, but that’s not a slight whatsoever. Highly watchable documentary, whether you’re a headbanger or not.
It’s got an 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Or how about another BIOPIC, one about someone you’ve probably never heard of?
Or maybe another DOCUMENTARY, one that isn’t about Metallica?
Or perhaps another MUSIC movie, one that’s more about music and less about therapy?
