For seven years, a lonely man has quietly defended his humble farm while the world beyond his woods slowly crumbled. When two women show up at his doorstep in need of a helping hand, he reluctantly lets them in and finds his way of life upended.
It’s an unusually quiet movie given its high-stakes, post-apocalyptic setting, but the deadly serious, minimalist approach ends up working like gangbusters towards creating something that continually surprises and keeps you on edge. Really impressive stuff, one that I’m still thinking about days later.
It’s got a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.
