It’s the first movie by Rian Johnson (of The Last Jedi and Looper fame) and one of the first movies that really put Joseph Gordon-Levitt on the map post-Third Rock from the Sun. So, yeah, it’s got those going for it right off the bat and both of these fools deliver. It also happens to be a wildly original, super cool film-noir murder mystery that feels like it belongs in the same room with The Maltese Falcon and Chinatown. You gotta check this one out, there is awful lot to like.
It’s got a 79% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is way too low, IMHO.
