After learning of the death of David Foster Wallace, a reporter for Rolling Stone recalls the unforgettable week he spent interviewing the late author at the height of his fame.
[Rated R]
I suppose this might not sound all that appealing to anyone unfamiliar with or uninterested in David Foster Wallace (as for those in the latter camp, can’t say I blame you). Can’t say that riveting synopsis up there is doing it any favors, either. That said, I like movies like these. It’s just two guys talking about deep, heavy, philosophical stuff the whole time, but it’s all quite easy on the ears and the performances ain’t too shabby. If you like “talking heads” movies, if you’re looking to work your brain a bit and do some light introspection while you’re at it, there are far worse offerings on Netflix.
It’s got a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.
