With the help of a quirky girl and some newfound superpowers, an orphan struggling to survive in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of 1997 fights back against the royally evil dudes who are hellbent on turning innocent people into drinking water.
[Unrated, but it’s definitely not for kids]
If you grew up in the ’80s and you love Mad Max, you’ll find a whole lot to like about Turbo Kid. That being said, don’t say I didn’t warn you that this sucker is super violent and ridiculously gory. May very well be too bloody for some, but at least it’s self-aware and it’s fun if you can take it. If nothing else, the thing’s got a vision and it’s one of the better on-screen apocalypses I’ve seen in quite some time.
