Newly single and broken-hearted, a man heads to the coast with his brother and friend to track down his ex and convince her to take him back. One thing leads to another, they start hanging with the locals, and our guy starts having second thoughts about who he’s really meant to be with.
Alright, this is kind of a hard sell. The only “trailer” I could find was the one from the filmmakers’ Kickstarter page (which I can’t even figure out how to center on the page), you’ve probably never heard of this thing to begin with, and there’s probably no one in it you’ll recognize unless you’ve seen Blue Ruin or Green Room (which you probably haven’t [but totally should]). All that being said, this is such a great, funny, special little movie that makes a familiar premise feel truly refreshing and has a wonderfully dry sense of humor that will appeal to anyone who loved Napoleon Dynamite. It’s so very good, you’ve gotta check it out. If there were more romantic comedies like this for us to choose from, Netflix would be a better place for everyone.
Tragically, it doesn’t have enough reviews on Rotten Tomatoes to warrant a proper Tomatometer score, but the one review that’s there will back me up.
