When a young Palestinian freedom fighter gets nabbed by local authorities, they give him an option: snitch on his friends who killed a local soldier or spend the rest of his days rotting in jail. Try as he might to stay loyal to his cause, settle down with his lady, and not die in prison, things only get more complicated as those around him get suspicious.
Part romance, part crime thriller, part sociopolitical commentary – you name it. Lots of moving parts, but it all comes together quite swimmingly and there are no shortage of twists and turns to keep you guessing where things are gonna go. A whole lot better than I was expecting, regardless of how much you care or know about Palestine.
It’s got a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.
