With the exception of a couple of her songs, I didn’t really count myself as much of an Amy Winehouse fan prior to seeing this doc. Also thought I knew what there was to know regarding her public persona and her untimely death, but turns out I didn’t know the half of it. Really just an exceptional documentary about a ridiculously talented soul and the life that could have been had she not been surrounded by vultures at every turn. Tragic as hell, but one hell of a biopic.
It’s got a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.
